Account details: name, email address, the curriculum and year group you study, and the class you belong to. Parents may also give us a contact number.

Learning activity: attendance, which recordings you watch, questions you ask a teacher, problem-set answers, and test results.

Technical data: your session cookie, the time zone your browser reports, and basic request logs used to keep the service running securely.

We do not ask for identity documents, payment card numbers or any special category data. Card payments, where they apply, are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.

To run lessons — timetabling, class access, attendance, and the Library of recordings tied to your account.

To teach better — showing a teacher where a student is struggling so the next lesson can address it, and giving you progress reports.

To keep accounts secure and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Live classes are recorded and stored so the students in that class can rewatch them. A recording may contain a student's voice, name, and anything shown on screen.

Recordings are visible only to the students enrolled in that class, their teacher, and staff who administer the platform. They are not public and are not used for marketing.

A parent or student can ask us to remove a recording they appear in, or to arrange future classes so the student is not captured.

Teachers see the students they teach, and only what they need to teach them.

We use a small number of service providers to operate the platform: a video conferencing provider for live classes, cloud hosting and storage for the site and recordings, and an email provider for account messages. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a student.

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the service to work, and it is removed when you sign out.

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Account and learning records are kept while the account is open, and for a limited period afterwards so a returning student does not lose their history.

Class recordings are kept for the duration of the course and a reasonable revision period after it. Records we must keep for accounting or legal reasons are held for the period the law requires, then deleted.

1TA is operated from Seoul, and our systems and service providers may store or process data in other countries, including India, where part of our platform infrastructure runs.

Wherever data is processed, it stays subject to this notice and is protected by contractual safeguards with each provider.

Accounts for students under 18 are opened by a parent or legal guardian, who consents to this notice on the student's behalf.

A parent may ask at any time to see what we hold about their child, correct it, or have it deleted. We collect only what teaching the student requires.

You can ask us to show you the information we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You can also ask for a copy in a portable format.

You can withdraw consent for anything you agreed to optionally, such as appearing in recordings, without affecting the lessons themselves.

Write to the address below and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

If we change how we use personal information in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page.
