Terms of Service

Creating a 1TA account, booking a trial lecture, or attending a class means you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

If you are agreeing on behalf of a student — as a parent or legal guardian — you accept these terms for yourself and for that student.

Most of our students are under 18. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create the account, agree to these terms and supervise its use. We may ask for confirmation of that consent at any time.

One account belongs to one student. Sharing an account, a class link or a recording with anyone outside the household is not permitted, because class places and materials are priced per student.

Keep your sign-in details private and give us accurate information — timetables, class invitations and reports are all sent to the address on the account.

Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account. You remain responsible for what happens through it until you do.

The first trial lecture is free and carries no obligation. Paid lessons are agreed with you in advance — the curriculum, schedule, and price are confirmed before any charge is made.

A lesson can be rescheduled or cancelled by contacting us at least 24 hours before it starts. Lessons missed without notice are treated as taught, because the teacher's time is reserved for that student.

If we have to cancel a class, we will offer a replacement session or a refund of that lesson.

Live classes are recorded so students can rewatch them in the Library. Attending a class means you accept that it is recorded, including anything you say or write during it.

Recordings are provided for the personal study of the students in that class. Downloading, re-uploading, sharing or publishing them is not permitted.

If you would prefer not to appear in a recording, tell us before the class and we will arrange the session accordingly.

Use 1TA for studying. Do not disrupt classes, harass other students or teachers, upload unlawful material, or attempt to access accounts, systems or data that are not yours.

The community area is moderated. Posts that are abusive, commercial, or designed to circumvent academic integrity rules may be removed.

Lecture videos, problem sets, notes and the platform itself belong to 1TA Education or the teachers who made them, and are licensed to you for personal study only.

Work you submit — answers, questions, community posts — remains yours. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the service and to give you feedback.

You can close your account at any time by writing to us. Any lessons already paid for will either be taught or refunded, whichever you prefer.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to share paid material, or where we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will explain why first.

We work to keep classes and recordings available, but we cannot promise the service will be uninterrupted — network problems, third-party outages and scheduled maintenance all happen.

1TA is a teaching service. We do not guarantee any particular grade or admissions outcome. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will let you know by email or in the app before the change takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are subject to the courts of Seoul. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
